The legend Oscar De La Hoya tapped in with Power Mornings host Letty ahead of the highly anticipated Golden Boy debut at Los Angeles’ YouTube Theater.

While De La Hoya made history as a fighter in the ring, it was only natural for the champ to give back, with the career he’s had, with his Golden Boy promotional company. Finding new boxing talent and educating up-and-comers in the sport, Oscar shares how a crossroads in his career led him to create Golden Boy. Speaking on how he connects to find new talent, the East L.A. native says a boxer’s skills aren’t what sells him old signing new talent, but it’s a person’s story and their authenticity that sets them apart.

From signing talents like Alexis Rocha and Floyd Schofield, De La Hoya is working to leave a new legacy with Golden Boy which is something that is different from his own boxing career.
