Originally created back in 2017, in honor of the late Notorious B.I.G.’s birthday, 23 pairs of unreleased Jordan 13s are headed to auction, with all proceeds going to the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation, which is an organization that helps inner-city kids excel in school by providing sponsorships, grants, and much more.
According to a recent report from TMZ, 23 pairs of the AJs will be auctioned off at Sotheby’s, ranging in sizes from 7 to 13. The auction expects to sell each pair between $2,300 to $5,200and bidding actually starts at just $1, and of course, the prices goes up from there. The all-black 13s have a hint of red and feature a silhouette of the late legend that is stitched on the tongue. The sneakers also have iconic “Juicy” lyrics, “It was all a dream” and “if you don’t know, now you know” on the inside of the tongue.
While only 23 pairs will be auctioned off, the specific number is to commemorate basketball legend Michael Jordan and honor the 50th anniversary of the birth of hip-hop.
