Dreamville’s own Bas is more than focused than ever to expand his artistry and reach new career heights.

As the pandemic has proven to reveal new perspectives on our lives, Bas took full advantage of the challenges of the global lockdown to get more in-depth relationships with his friends and family and the vision he has for his career. Pulling up to the Power 106 studios, with L.A. Leakers Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk, the Queens-bred rapper sits down to chop it up for his inaugural LIFTOFF appearance.

Catching up on life post-quarantine, Bas shares that his attention to detail and growth is the efforts behind his long-anticipated album. The emcee is taking his time to craft bigger records and is diligently working to grow his artistry and challenge his creativity. “I’ve been real intentional, this go around,” says the rapper. Bas continues, “One of the things that I identified, for myself, personally, that I wanted to do and achieve, is to craft bigger records. And, “The Jackie” was the first step in that.” With appearances from J. Cole and Lil Tjay, Bas shares how the record came together in just 30 minutes and it was a moment that happened because Cole continues to push him out of his comfort zone.

Citing much of his inspiration to Daft Punk, N.E.R.D., and Jamiroquai, Bas hopes to finally secure a collabo with Pharrell in the near future.

Bas also goes on to share his thoughts on the recent Dipset and The Lox Verzuz battle, how his parents reacted to him dropping out of school to pursue music, and much more.
