Nike VP Resigns After Story Of Her Son Flipping Sneakers Emerges

BEAVERTON, OR - MARCH 22: The main entrance of the Nike headquarters is seen on March 22, 2018 in Beaverton, Oregon. Nike, the world's largest sports brand, reported better than anticipated earnings on Thursday, with revenues increasing to nearly $90 billion. A Nike employee of 25 years has decided to resign after her son was featured in a publication of a Bloomberg piece that focused on him.

Ann Hebert served as a Vice President overseeing Nike’s North America branch so being caught in the middle of reselling kicks probably wasn’t a smart decision for her 19-year-old son Joe.  The announcement of her departure came via email and was her decision.

“Ann Hebert, VP/GM, North America geography has decided to step down from Nike, effectively immediately,” the email reads. “We thank Ann for her more than 25 years with Nike and wish her well.” A Nike spokesperson told Bloomberg that Ann had disclosed information about the business to her employer in 2018 and there was “no violation of company policy.” However, Nike does not permit its employees to participate in sneaker reselling.
