Cole heating things up with the latest release of two new offerings from his forthcoming album ‘The Fall Off’.
Since penning a personal essay with The Players’ Tribune, where the rapper revealed details of his personal life and is considering retirement after the release of his album, J. Cole has been in the headlines lately with not only new music but new controversies surrounding his releases.
Yesterday Cole dropped off “The Climb Back” and “Lion King on Ice” which are expected to be featured on The Fall Off. While Cole is no stranger to addressing beefs on wax, fans are speculating that the Dreamville Pres. is taking at at “Gucci Gang” rapper Lil Pump. On “Lion King on Ice”, Cole spits:
N***a dissed me, It was nonsense
I sat ’em down like his father
My n***a asked, ‘Why you bother?’
We should’ve caught him and mobbed him
I said, ‘We gotta move smarter”
“Don’t wanna be the reason for one more sad song
I tried to warn n***as they wouldn’t last long
I hope that you see how they came and they want
They shots never hit but they made their attempts
May have a good year like their name on a blimp
But you know what it take to be poppin’ this long.
Both Cole and Pump had previous tension back in 2018 when both artists came tother for an on-camera interview that ended the beef.
