Actress Naya Rivera’s body has sadly been recovered from Lake Piru.
The “Glee” actress was reported missing nearly a week ago on Wednesday, July 8th, after she and her four-year-old son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, went swimming at Lake Piru. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the mother and son were swimming in the lake but Rivera did not return to the boat that Dorsey found floating in.
Earlier this morning the Ventura County Sheriff shared news of a body being recovered from the lake but did not specify if the body recovered was Rivera’s. During a press conference, the Sheriff confirmed that Naya was in fact recovered and there was no indication of suicide or foul play.

According to the Sheriff’s office, Rivera rented a pontoon boat Wednesday for herself and her son and after swimming in the lake, Dorsey told investigators that Naya helped him into the boat but he later looked back and saw that she disappeared.
There is still a full autopsy that needs to conducted but the Sheriff’s department noted that Rivera’s body was found on the surface of water.
Earlier today former “Glee” cast mastes joined Rivera’s family on the Lake for a group prayer.
This photo of the cast of #Glee gathering together at Lake Piru today where #NayaRivera’s body was found is incredibly powerful — especially when you consider today is the 7 year anniversary of Cory Monteith’s death. I’m a mess. pic.twitter.com/RhY9hUb78E
