The novel coronavirus pandemic has without a doubt been an experience that many of us could never imagine witnessing. While we continue to grapple with losing loved ones to COVID-19, finding new ways to alter our lifestyles, and for many, settling into the every day routine of online schooling, Future’s latest endeavor will attempt to ease the stress of the pandemic for many students.
The Atlanta native announced that he is launching the “I’m Still A Dreamer” Georgia COVID-19 Scholarship program to coming college freshmen, through his FreeWishes Foundation. Future’s co-funded foundation with his Mother Stephanie Jester and sister Tia Wilbur-Anderson aims to make an impact on citizens of metro Atlanta. In a press release, Future stated, “You don’t have to be in the perfect situation or come from the perfect background to reach for your dreams. Despite this Covid-19 pandemic, I encourage all dreamers to continue to dream big.”
High school graduates hoping to attain the scholarship must submit a personal video describing how the pandemic has personally affected their lives. Students must have a minimum gap of 3.0, live in that state of Georgia, and must already be enrolled in an accredited college for the upcoming fall 2020 term.
