Gayle King is receiving major backlash after she questioned WNBA star, Lisa Leslie, in a recent CBS This Morning interview Tuesday about Kobe Bryant’s 2003 rape allegations in the wake of his death.
In the interview clip that has now gone viral, King asks Leslie, “It’s been said that his legacy is complicated because of a sexual assault charge, which was dismissed in 2003, 2004. Is it complicated for you as a woman, as a WNBA player?”
Leslie responded to the question saying, “I don’t think it’s something that we should keep hanging over his legacy.”
Many celebrities jumped to social media to defend Bryant and question why King would even mention the allegations.
