We reported earlier that YG was arrested when the Los Angeles Sheriffs raided his home. The cops allegedly showed up with both a search warrant and an arrest warrant.
TMZ revealed that the rapper’s bail has been set at $250K. So far, there’s no word that he’s bailed out yet. YG’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, says he believes the arrest is suspicious, “This arrest is one that caught YG completely off guard because there is no truth to them. YG has no idea what investigators are talking about and we have not been provided with any details…we are learning about this case through the media,” he explained. Then confidently said, “Rest assured, my client will be cleared of all charges, if they even survive past the arraignment.”
Many agree with Tacopina though and say the timing of this arrest is curious, since YG is supposed to perform at the Grammys for the Nipsey Hussle tribute on Sunday. “YG has a performance scheduled at The Grammy’s Sunday where he will honor Nipsey Hussle … so the timing is suspect, to put it mildly,” Tacopina said.
The Game took to Twitter to let his feelings about the whole situation be known…
Funny how @YG gets arrested the weekend of the Grammy’s when he’s supposed to hit the stage in Nip’s honor. #LAPDtheBiggestGangHere

Hopefully YG can get out in time for the Grammys on Sunday, to say that people are looking forward to this Nipsey tribute would be an understatement!
