Kanye West laid all his talent out in Houston for Pastor Joel Osteen and his congregation at Lakewood Church. The evening started with Kanye’s choir and Pastor Osteen talking about his journey as a minister.
Kanye took the stage soon after singing, “He saved a wretch like me”, while his chorale group sang “Selah”, from his latest album, harmoniously in the background. West then rapped the lyrics from the smart phone in his hand.
The tickets to the show were sold out within minutes on Ticketmaster, just the day before. Over 43,000 Fans of all faiths joined in on the experience, despite the rapper being vocal about God guiding him through Christianity. West said his spiritual awakening has made him see that he is “in service to God.”
Providing the Sunday Service Experience was not the end of the excitement. Ye took to Twitter to announce the presentation of the opera “Nebuchadnezzar” this Sunday at the Hollywood Bowl.

After performing a variety of pop and Christian songs, Pastor Osteen revealed to the crowd that his father, and founding Pastor in 1999, died suddenly. He said, “You got to keep moving forward.”
Kanye has been traveling to share this spiritual experience and only hopes to continue the spread of his faith through his Gospel-themed album, ‘Jesus Is King’.
“We get constant advertisement for “spirits”. We get constant advertisement for strip clubs & other things like that. But then we bring up the name of “Jesus”, we’re told to be quiet…”
