AND I OOP—was DJ Khaled’s post and delete video shade or nah?
Tyler, the Creator’s album IGOR debuted in the NO. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 200, and Khaled’s Father Of Asahd was right behind at NO. 2. Some fans say they think the hip-hop mogul may upset about his second place ranking. Last night, a video surfaced of DJ Khaled making comments discussing the kind of music he makes. He explains, it’s “Not no mysterious s***”. Hmmm was this a little shade? The producer doesn’t actually make any specific mention about whom his comments may be aimed at, but something or someone might have triggered him.
“Here’s the thing,” Khaled starts. Then he begins to rant a bit saying, “I make albums so people can play it. And you actually hear it. You know, driving your car you hear another car playing it. Go to the barber shop, you hear them playing it. You know, turn the radio on, and you hear them playing it. It’s playing everywhere – it’s called great music. It’s called albums that you actually hear the songs. Not no mysterious s***, and you never hear it.” AND I OOP—
Many fans were quick to assume the “mysterious” mention was in fact shade towards Tyler, the Creator. A list of the possible explanations from fans on Twitter have now surfaced; but of course it’s all speculation. The difference in marketing between the two albums and the amount of features (or lack thereof on Tyler’s part) are just a few ideas that have fans thinking the rant is about the Odd Future rapper. Khaled also later deleted the video which has further fueled the comments. Now no one LOVES being NO. 2 but both bodies of work are great for different reasons and they both are doing numbers; sales wise and streaming wise.
Watch the video of Khaled, that was screen-recorded and posted to Twitter and decide for yourself:
I tried to tell y’all DJ Khaled felt a type of way about losing to Tyler when he posted then deleted this on IG 😂 pic.twitter.com/MNTjqSuoMt
