MISS-AYE! Congrats to Missy Elliott! She can officially be called Dr. Elliott because over the weekend she was honored with her doctorate degrees from the Berklee College of Music. She along with singer Justin Timberlake celebrated this huge accomplishment!
Missy is officially the first African American rapper to receive this at the university! Get it, girl!
“This year’s honorary doctorate recipients are being recognized for their achievements and influences in music, and for their enduring global impact,” the school said in a statement. The superstars were honored for their “influences in music, and for their enduring global impact, CNN reports.
After the ceremony the rapper took to Instagram to express her happiness over the huge accomplishment.
