Most current artists seem to shy away from sharing their voices on political matters, due to the respect they have for their fans and their possible dissimilar views. Travis Scott thinks otherwise, and believes his musical influence could help encourage political awareness amongst the youth with the US elections right around the corner. Scott is a supporter of Beto O’Rourke, the Democratic Party’s nominee in the Texan senate race of 2018.
Travis showed his fellow Texans who he is voting for when he attended an event at the Bayland Community Center in Houston, held for the politician Bete O’Rourke yesterday on October 28th. Scott addressed the crowd through a megaphone, reminding the youthful group of the power they have to change the world at the tender age of 18. He urges them to support Beto with the upcoming election on November 6 to help “take Texas all the way up.”

Travis’ support came the day after LeBron James was spotted wearing a cap that read, “Beto for Senate,” before the Lakers game against the San Antonio Spurs Saturday night. Beto is currently working on catching up to his Republican opponent, Senator Ted Cruz, who’s seeking re-election.
