Hailing from Carol City, Florida, rapper Denzel Curry stopped through the Power 106 Perrier® & Juice Studios to talk the meaning behind his latest project ’Ta13oo,’ attending XXXTentacion’s funeral, meeting Lil Peep, and tackling difficult issues on his album.

Curry ’s latest project covers a wide range of topics dealing with everyday human experiences including revenge, love, suicide, molestation, and fame. Speaking on the meaning of ’Ta13oo,’ the “Clout Cobain” rapper says:

Majority was situations some of my friend sea like peers, even people in the rap game dealt with. And I just put stuff that I dealt with, stuff that my peers dealt with in one album. Because, everybody is pretty much hurting some type of way. Is It mental, physical, or emotional, you know? So i put it out there for everybody to listen to. hopefully they’ll gravitate towards it and relate to it.

Denzel also touches on the significance of killing himself in his Cobain visual, stating, “The moment you die is the moment everybody want to acknowledge that you did something for the culture, you did something for their lives, everybody want to “R.I.P.” about it.” Mentioning the significance of losing rappers like XXX and society not acknowledging their position in music and life, Curry also details his experience attending X’s funeral and meeting Lil the late Lil Peep.
