Album covers are an essential piece to any classic masterpiece.
Through the years artists have added substance to their art through album covers that have a strong message. Most recently J. Cole’s ‘KOD’ cover gave a lot of insight to the material he would be talking about on the album. The cover shows him painted wearing a crown with a group of kids in his gown that represent many of this eras rappers being depicted as strung out kids, using drugs.
Other classic covers that pop in my mind are Dr. Dre’s ‘The Chronic’, Snoop Dogg’s ‘Doggystyle’, 2-Pac’s ‘The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory’, Logic’s ‘Everybody’, and Drake’s ‘Nothing Was The Same’ to name a few. There’s too many to name, but I’ve went ahead and picked 10 recent and older ones that came to mind. They aren’t in any particular order.
Makaveli (2-Pac) – ‘The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory’
Dr. Dre – ‘The Chronic’
Snoop Dogg – ‘Doggystyle’
J. Cole – ‘KOD’
Kanye West – ‘College Dropout’
Kendrick Lamar – ‘Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City’
Kendrick Lamar – ‘DAMN.’
Logic – ‘Everybody’
Migos – ‘Culture’
Kehlani – ‘SweetSexySavage’
