During a promotional run, Mariah Carey was out promoting her new upcoming Las Vegas residency show.

At her stop with Jimmy Kimmel Live, she was asked about her time on American Idol. Now that she is no longer a part of the show, she took time to address a rumor about the current judge Lionel Richie. The rumor that was being addressed was if Mariah told Lionel to not do the American Idol gig, in which Mariah responded back “If I didn’t I should have.” Mariah also added that her experience working at Idol was a “bleak” experience.
