Given a rocky and stressful past couple of weeks, thank you Trump, America’s heart continues to break ever since the day Barack Obama officially left office.  Hip-hop has had a huge voice during the election season and one of the rappers that is clearly hurt by the termination of Obama’s presidency is definitely Chance The Rapper. Chano and Barack have a history of being pals, but the rapper has taken their friendship to a new level with a project promoted today on Twitter. He dropped a dope collection dedicated to Obama on January 20, and now Chance is back with even better #ThankUObama merch! 

Transforming into a model, the rapper teams up with Chicago designer Joe Freshgoods for the Obama-inspired fashion line. Products range from $25 – $150 and include a series of clothing items like Obama basketball jerseys, spray painted Barack and Michelle long-sleeves, as well as tees with a very special “Message to Malia”. A shirt featuring a Biggie inspired image of Obama with a crown may be the biggest hit of the collection.

Freshgood explains his involvement with the collection on the clothing website stating, “with this project I wanted to timestamp a period in my life where I felt like I can do whatever I wanted to do and be whatever I wanted to be. The night Obama won his first term gave me so much hope, especially and most importantly, as a Black man”.
