British-Nigerian Grime rapper Skepta is releasing a special Nike edition Air Max 97. Skepta’s inspiration came from a recent trip to Morocco and the unique 1999 Air Tuned Max sneaker.
The rapper’s new clothing label, Mains, was also inspired by the visit to the Moroccan town of Essaouira.
The Air Max 97 Sk features an iridescent copper/rose gold leather paired with black sandwich mesh and an HF weld of the Swoosh logo.
Additionally, the print on the insole is inspired by Moroccan patterns, with the all-new SK logo paying homage to the Air Max TN logo and is in the shape of a UK electrical outlet. The braided embroidery along the tongue and heel resembles the embellished sportswear Skepta saw locals wearing in Morocco.
The Nike Air Max 97 Sk will be available globally starting September 2nd on nike.com and at select retailers.
Take a look at the picture of the shoes below and let us know if you plan on buying a pair.
