CKay has been riding the incredible wave that his hit single “Love Nwantiti” has given him as he gears up to release his debut album, which is expected to drop this year.

The “Emo Afrobeats” singer, songwriter, and producer pulled up on our Midday host Bryhana to chop it up about the new music and projects he’s excited to finally put out, and his new single “Emiliana.” Inspired by a previous long-distance relationship, CKay shares that the song is a reflection of his experience with long-distance love and the focused energy he puts into his music. Wanting to create and push the sound of Afrobeats forward with his creativity, the Nigerian native shares that he wants to give fans new emotions to feel and new sounds to explore in the genre.

Ckay goes on to share that his debut album will finally be released this year, which artists he would want to feature in a headlining tour, and much more.
