Life is really good for Afrobeats artist Fireboy DML, and not just because he has a huge hit on his hands with “Peru,” but he’s attesting his best life to the new mindset and wave he’s currently riding.

Stopping through the Power 106 studios to speak with Bryhana for the latest New At 2 installment, Fireboy celebrates the success of connecting with Ed Sheeran on his infectious “Peru” single and details how he’s adjusting to the new level of notoriety as well as his outlook on no longer over-analyzing certain things in life. As the singer admits he has been releasing music that is introspective, the Nigerian native explains that he’s ready to be more open about new experiences, merging new cultures with his music, meeting new people, and just overall enjoying life more. Fireboy also shares how he connected with Ed Sheeran for their collab and why he still has yet to meet Blxst and 21 Savage, even though they have a “Peru” remix together.

Fireboy goes on to share that he has new music coming this spring, details why his album is titled ‘Playboy’, and plans to finally visit Peru in real life.
