Reportedly, Apple will to shipping parts to customers to fix their own devices with new program. The Self Service Repair will allow Apple users access to instructions and the necessary tools to fix issues with hardware via home.

The service will be available for the iPhone 12 and 13 and will start in 2022 in the United States, which plans to further extend the Self Service Repair option to reach several additional countries throughout the year.

The repairs will be focused on the display, battery and camera. If you are one in need of the service, you will be directed to a page where you will be able to review Apple’s Repair Manual. 200 or more necessary parts and tools needed for repairs are available through the company’s online repair store. Once fix, customer can return used parts in exchange for credit towards purchase.

“In the past three years, Apple has nearly doubled the number of service locations with access to Apple genuine parts, tools, and training, and now we’re providing an option for those who wish to complete their own repairs,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer.

“Creating greater access to Apple genuine parts gives our customers even more choice if a repair is needed.”
