Oscar-nominated actor LaKeith Stanfield will serve as the lead voice of Yasuke, a real-life samurai who believed to have traveled to Japan from Africa in 1579. The series is created, produced, and directed by LeSean Thomas and will feature music from Flying Lotus. Yasuke was animated by MAPPA, a Japanese studio, and director and animator Kaeshi Koike was behind the actual character designs.
