There is a lot of ‘Good News’ being delivered from the Megan Thee Stallion forefront. While 2020 has undoubtedly been a challenging year of experiences for all of us, the Houston rapper taps in with the L.A. Leakers Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk to speak all things about her journey creating most of the most highly anticipated debut albums in the rap game. While the now 4-time Grammy-nominated artist has much to celebrate, the year that is now behind Meg Thee Stallion, has paved the way for everything that is to come in the future.
‘Good News’ has quickly become a successful hit, with current single “Body” already a fan favorite, sparking a now viral dance challenge but the song’s creation was definitely something that was so undeniably Meg. Speaking on the recording process for her debut project, Megan tells the Leakers that much of her writing came to her through the pandemic lockdown and the infectious “Body” hook was inspired by the new quarantine thickness she’s added during lockdown. The growing success behind “Body” is a continued testament to the amazing year the Hot Girl leader has had with a ground-breaking Fashion Nova line, which garnered $1.2 million during its initial drop, the incredibly powerful Saturday Night Live performance that brought light to protecting Black women and men, and of course her Grammy nominations.
Megan chops it up with Justin and Sourmilk about the moment she knew she popped as an artist, going on a radio tour of ripping freestyles and also shares how her mother found out that she could actually rap.
Meg also goes on to confess she wants to collab with bad gal Rihanna, if she prefers strip club wings over NoBu, the importance of taking the current pandemic more serious, and shows love to Los Angeles native Dom Kennedy.
