Rapsody’s “Eve” album was written as a dedication to Black women with every song titled after a prominent woman in Black history. Song titles like “Nina” named after singer/activist Nina Simone, “Michelle” after former First Lady Michelle Obama, “Maya” after Poet Maya Angelou, “Sojourner” after Activist Sojourner Truth, to name a few. In a recent post she writes:
“One of the highest honors is to create art for the culture and have it taught in our educational institutions! Thank you @tbunzey at @uncchapelhill and Simone Drake at @theohiostateuniversity 🙏🏾🌹”
