This past weekend, YG told a fan to get off of the stage after the concert-goer declined the offer to say “Fuck Donald Trump” in front of a massive crowd at the 2019 Mala Luna Music Festival in San Antonio, Texas.
Of course, the President slander did not sit well with the Trump Administration. On Monday (October 28th), White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham responded with a sarcastic comment to Fox News’ question about the incident. “Another example of the tolerant left,” she said. The event that sparked the response from Grisham was when Los Angeles rapper YG had called a fan up on stage from the crowd, before performing his Nipsey Hussle-assisted 2016 anti-Trump song, “FDT.” YG stated “I don’t know if I want to shake your hand yet,” with the fan accompanying him on stage. “Listen, I spotted you out in the crowd. I asked you if you fuck with Donald Trump. You said you don’t know. So, since you don’t know, I need you to make up your mind tonight… Because I know your mama, your daddy, your grandmama, your grandfather is watching, I want you to state your name and go ‘Fuck Donald Trump.’”After the fan declined the offer to make the statement, YG kicked him off the stage and asked for him to be removed from the show.
This is definitely not the first time YG had asked a fan to come on stage and make their voices heard, doing something similar during his set on the Legendary Nights Tour. Although some have chosen to stand by YG’s sentiments, this fan did not seem so keen.
