Kanye West held a listening party in Detroit and Chicago over the weekend for his upcoming album ‘Jesus is King’ in which he also allowed fans to catch a glimpse of a the documentary.
According to Imax, the film features songs by West in the gospel tradition as well as music from his new album. “Filmed in the summer of 2019, Jesus is King brings Kanye West’s famed Sunday Service to life in the Roden Crater, visionary artist James Terrell’s never-before-seen installation in Arizona’s Painted Desert,” they stated.
While it is still unclear when the album itself will be released, the film is set to premiere on October 25th.
Fans who were able to attend the listening party have mentioned that the album, ‘Jesus Is King’ is a combination of what people like about Kanye’s music with “a gospel spin.”
