The hometown unity for the L.A. backyard is something that has been overlooked for quite some time. But with more natives coming together in support of the city’s culture, i.e. the surge in collabs featuring YG, Tyga, Mustard, Blueface, RJ MrLA, and much more, up and coming Pasadena rapper JustinTraye is now leading the pack.
Linking with buzzing and well-respected rappers Skeme, Katori Walker, and Mozzy, Traye’s latest release “What A Shame” marks the return for the west coast emcee since his 2018 drop for “Say That”. The group trade bars about their reputations and flex-style. Exclusively produced by fellow Pasadena neighbor MarSnare, the smooth piano-driven track comes to life in the warehouse-featured visual.
Hitting up Director Carrington to present the video treatment, all Los Angeles is represented in the multi-dimensional visual.
On the track, Traye spits:
Yeah n***a you should be ashamed of yourself
Got your hand out you, you should be hangin’ yourself
If you broke, ain’t nobody you could blame but yourself
N***a did it on my own, nobody to thank but myself
But it’s gang in here
It’s a shame you can’t stay in here
Paperwork through the hood, you need to make it clear.
