Melly, as well as those close to him are maintaining his innocence.

Despite pleading not guilty, YNW Melly and YNW Bortlen remain locked up on murder charges for the death of their friends YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser. Of course since her arrest many have suspected that his hit song “Murder On My Mind” may be a confession. The post below, was Melly’s last post before turning himself in back in February and he and his family, who are currently managing his social media accounts are sticking to their story—that Melly didn’t do it.

SMKEXCLSV, the producer of the track, recently sat down with Genius and took the time to deconstruct the beat as well as back Melly’s claims saying, “This has nothing to do with what Melly is going through right now, I just know him and he’s not like that. The producer clarified that the song was actually created three years ago, way before the murder even took place. “When I first heard about the allegations, I automatically knew that, you know, it was fake news,” he explained. “I know Melly. It’s not a confession, this was already a song that was made three years ago.”
