Vin Rican is back in the crates this week and has delivered the latest installment of the classic Wax Only series.
Featuring the throwback works that were flipped into some of the iconic tracks from Reflection Eternal’s ‘Train Of Thought’ album. The project is the debut album from the Reflection duo and was released back in 2000, 18 years ago today. Consisting of rapper Talib Kweli and DJ and producer Hi-Tek, the New York pair recorded the project over the course of the turn of the new millennium and released through Rawkus Records.
The 20-track album borrowed familiar sounds including Soul Doug’s “Can’t Stop Loving You,” The Fatback Band’s “Let The Drums Speak,” Isao Tomita’s “Passepied,” and many more. While the album boasted much production credit from Hi-Tek, Train Of Thought saw guest appearances from Dave Chappelle, Mos Def, Idle Warship, De La Soul, and Xibit, just to name a few.
