Demi Lovato has always been extremely open about her addiction.
In 2010, Lovato checked herself into rehab and remained sober for six years. This year she released the song, “Sober,” in which she admits to a relapse. She then suffered from a drug overdose two weeks ago and was admitted into Cedar-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.
Since then, she and her team have decided to cancel the remaining eight shows of her Tell Me You Love Me World Tour. Refunds will be given to the fans who bought tickets, and Live Nation offers Demi Lovato, “the best now and in the future and we hope to see her soon in South America.”
Lovato is currently in a rehab facility outside of California where she’s expected to stay for a least 30 days. The singer took to Instagram to address her overdose, “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”
