After the Manchester attack occurred, many artists, including those in the hip hop industry, sent their love out to the victims, families, and Ariana Grande. 2 Chainz talked about the matter when he was on The View on Wednesday. Since there is a certain trend in hip hop music, he thought it was a surprise that the attack even happened at Grande’s show.
2 Chainz explained that because it wasn’t at a hip hop concert, the bomb was unexpected. “I think that situation is very unfortunate. When people go to concerts, they feel like it’s a place to get away. You know, for some kids, it’s their first time being away from their parents. And for parents, you hope that they have a good time, get back home safely… So when you speak of someone like Ariana Grande, you feel like this is a concert where there shouldn’t be that much resistance. It should be safe. Because I know a lot of the content from hip hop rappers… you just assume, even the venue insurance is just different.”
Although Ariana Grande’s music doesn’t promote violence, the Manchester tragedy just proves that you can never anticipate these kinds of terrible events.
