GQ features a double cover for next month (February) that features Chance The Rapper, and The Weeknd. Today, GQ released their profile of Chance The Rapper, and they are looking to release their Weeknd profile tomorrow.
Chance got a lot of attention for his mixtape “Coloring Book,” last year, and the magazine decided to feature him for his achievements. The magazine dives into Chances style choices, throwback videos of the rapper, and possibly altering his name. The Chance full interview is available here, and the article follows the rapper in the studio for a more in-depth look at he works.
“He’s more spirit-lifting than Jay Z, more congenial than Drake, and more “of the people” than Kanye. And with no label backing him, he’s leading hip-hop to a new place, a new era, a whole new sound. But can Chance the Rapper become the very best we’ve got?,” GQ said. The magazine decided to feature both artists in their February issue to show their equal success, and extremely opposite styles.
