ABOUT DJ RAPHIKI:
Raphiki, originally from Compton, Ca. has always had a love for music.

Raphiki’s career spans over ten years experience in front of the mic on radio and behind the scenes. He began in radio while attending college at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo California, where he hosted his own College Radio show. It was here where he brought Hip-Hop to a whole new plateau by producing and DJ’ing the hottest events and clubs in the area. And as a result, would be the starting place where he would begin his career as a radio, tour, and club DJ. While in college, he also started the 1st commercial urban radio station in the area, which would prepare him for his next new journey…LA radio. After finishing college, he moved back to Los Angeles where he began working on the street team at Power 106. Shortly thereafter, he would become a member of the hottest DJ squad on radio (Power Mixers), where his passion for music would be heard by all. His passion doesn’t stop at just being a DJ though. He has also put together various albums as well as compilations where he has worked with the likes of Dilated Peoples, Slum Village, and Mos Def to name a few.

Currently, Raphiki continues to work on various music projects with his Dj Crew “The Specialists”, as well as new and upcoming producers. When asked what he would like to do in the future, he said “being on Power 106 is definitely a stepping stone to bigger and better things. One of those things would be to host my own specialty show.”
